Princeton, MIT makes it to the top in World Report\’s best college ranking and US News.
According to the US News and World Report, Princeton University has bagged the first position. Massachusetts Institute of Technology has bagged the second position for the year 2022-2023. Harvard University, Stanford University and Yale University have tied at the third position in the national university list.
For the 12th straight year, Princeton has led the national university list. The University of Chicago has ranked in the sixth position. The University of Pennsylvania and Johns Hopkins University bagged the seventh position. California Institute of Technology has bagged the ninth position. Northwestern University and Duke University bagged the tenth position.
The 38th annual report assessed 1500 US institutions granting undergraduate degrees. The ranking is done on Four broad categories – National Liberal Arts Colleges, National University, Regional Colleges and Regional Universities.
The rankings are based on 17 parameters. They assess academic quality including graduation, retention rate, financial resources per student, undergraduate academic reputation, etc. They have changed SAT/ACT calculation policy as many students were unable to take the standardized tests.
However, If less than 50 per cent of the newly admitted students submit their scores this year, they will not consider standardized tests to calculate the institute\’s rank. They will also consider Part-time faculty with a terminal degree while calculating faculty resources in addition to the full-time faculty previously assessed.
