Indian students are provided with a wide range of scholarships by Cornell University and Tata Trust partnerships in order to pursue their higher education. At any given time, about 20 scholars are supported by the Tata Scholarship Fund. This ensures that, regardless of financial circumstances, top Indian students are given the opportunity to go to Cornell University. Once a year, the scholarship is given out. It covers the full tuition fees of the undergraduate course of the beneficiaries.
Eligibility for the Scholarship
- The candidate must be a citizen of India and must have finished secondary school in India.
- In an undergraduate-level course, the candidate must have an offer from Cornell University.
- The candidate must be eligible for need-based financial aid.
- They must also have a good TOEFL or IELTS score.
Procedure of Application

Required Documents while filling out the Application form
- The original scanned copies of all academic records and transcripts must be uploaded by the applicants.
- Information on the Income of the Parents and the students.
- Photocopy of passport or other citizenship documents.
- Documents that prove permanent residency in India.
- Passport-size photographs.
- Offer Letter of Admission from Cornell University.
- A minimum of two letters of recommendation.
- A personal letter or a Statement of Purpose (A Statement of Purpose is used as an important eligibility factor by the scholarship committee in order to narrow down the applicants)
- Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) which contains Complete information about personal information, achievements, contact information, and related activities.
- In order to prove the fitness of the applicant to travel and study, the candidate must submit a Medical certificate.
Evaluation of Applications and Selection Process
Only if you have successfully applied for financial aid during your admission process, your scholarship application will be considered. Your documents will be evaluated based on your past academic performance, family income, citizenship and language test scores once you upload all of them.
