Student Organizations halt protests on reopening the campus

The student organizations of the University of Delhi who have been protesting for nearly two months for the reopening of the campus halted due to the increase in the number of Covid cases and the restrictions imposed by the government after the birth anniversary of social reformer Savitribai Phule.

The Secretary of the Student Federation of India stated that the DU administration did not want to reopen the campus even which the situation was better and no interest was seen by the administration even when the vice-chancellor gave statements to reopen the campus.

She claimed that the students were forced to be the victim of the digital divide and a large section of students still do not possess the facilities to attend online classes. The Student Federation of India demanded that the campus must be reopened on a priority basis when the situation is alright.
