As Covid-19 cases have been rapidly increasing across the country, the states have released a new set of guidelines in which the first step is the closure of educational institutions. Here is the list of states and districts in which schools and colleges are closed:
- Bangalore: Bangalore closes schools for the next two weeks for all classes except for classes 10 and 12.
- Delhi: Delhi government closed schools for all the classes from January 3 and the schools will remain shut until further updates.
- Haryana: All schools and colleges are closed in Haryana till January 12.
- Maharashtra: Schools are closed in Mumbai for all the classes till January 31.
- Tamil Nadu: Schools are closed from classes 1 to 8 till January 10.
- Odisha: The reopening of primary classes was deferred until further notice.
- West Bengal: Schools and colleges are closed in West Bengal until further notice.
- Rajasthan: Schools in Jaipur are closed until January 9.
- Bihar: Schools are closed till class 8 and offline classes are held for classes 9 to 12 with 50% capacity until January 21.
- Telangana: Schools and colleges are closed in Telangana from January 8 to January 16.
- Jharkhand: All schools and colleges are closed till January 15.
- Goa: All schools and colleges are closed till January 26.
- Punjab: All schools and colleges are closed till January 15.
- Pune: Schools in Pune are closed for classes 1 to 8 till January 30.
- Chhattisgarh: Schools are closed in districts with a positivity rate of 4% and more until further notice.
- Uttar Pradesh: Schools are presently closed for winter vacations.
