Preparation tips during lockdown for class 12 students

The current COVID-19 scenario has built quite the buzz recently. Just when we thought that things were finally returning to their original pace, the second wave of the pandemic hits the world again, this time with a double and triple mutant force! With so much going on around you must be feeling pretty overwhelmed.

In a recent interview, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal declared that the class 12 Boards exams that were scheduled to be held from May 5 are to be postponed due to the pandemic. Further decisions will be taken by the Board on June 1.

If you are preparing to give your Boards this year, you must be feeling pretty frustrated with the news. Who wouldn’t be?

But grumbling about it won’t get you anywhere, will it? You have invested too much time and effort into this important part of your life. Yes, we understand that it is hard and tiring, and draining but this is not the time to give up. Look into the positive side of the spectrum. You still have at least a month left to add a final touch to your preparation tactics.

We would suggest that instead of twitting hate comments on socials, make your timetable and brush up on the topics that you lack in.

Here are a few tips to help you prepare for your class 12th exams this lockdown:

MAKE A REALISTIC PLAN

Make a study plan that\’s easy to follow and doesn\’t carry overachieving tasks that you won\’t ever complete. The key is to maintain steadiness and stay faithful to your routine no matter what.

SHED ALL DISTRACTIONS

Log off social media, turn your phone off, and lock your bedroom door to keep your annoying siblings out. Work in complete silence, away from the nuisance of the outside world. You will surely see positive results.

SET THE VIBE

The drastic mood-lift after cleaning your room and study space might come off as quite a shock for you at first. Creating a clean, study ambiance is known to elevate one\’s determination to study. You can also plug in your earphones and light a scented incense to further enhance your spirit.

BE TRADITIONAL WITH YOUR NOTES

Make handwritten notes. Try to make the information concise by creating bullet points, flow charts, diagrams, etc.

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

Try challenging yourself with quizzes, self-analyzing tests, etc. to monitor your level of preparation.

STOCK UP ON YOUR FAVORITE SNACKS

There\’s nothing more satisfying than munching on snacks in between study sessions.

BLESS YOURSELF WITH SELF-CARE ROUTINES

Be gentle with yourself. There\’s no point in crying over the milk that is already spilled. But you still have ample time to prepare, provided you have the determination to do so. Amongst all these tactics, don\’t forget to eat healthy food, work out, get good sleep and stay regularly hydrated!

Humans are social creatures, so you don\’t have to hide from the entire world. Talking with your friends and family is helpful as well.

TREAT YOURSELF WITH THINGS THAT BRINGS YOU HAPPINESS

Yes, sacrifices are important towards your road to success, however, there\’s no universal rule out there which states that to achieve your dreams you have to quit all your happiness. Balance is the ultimate key. As long as you know how to control your guilty pleasures, you can keep entertaining yourself with things that make you happy whilst simultaneously also preparing for your dreams!

Here’s an everyday study time table that you can follow:
