Oxford Univesity admission tests to be delivered by TCS iON

CAT (Classics Admissions Test), Oxford ELAT (English Literature Admissions Test), HAT (History Admissions Test), MLAT (Modern Languages Admissions Test), MAT (Mathematics Admissions Test), AMELAT (formerly known as the OLAT, Asian and Middle Eastern Languages Admissions Test), PAT (Physics Admissions Test), and the Philosophy test (for Philosophy and Theology only) are Oxford’s own admissions tests.

From 2023 onwards, responsibility has been entrusted to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for the delivery of most of the admissions tests of various universities. The exam date for CAT (Classics Admissions Test), GAT (Geography Admissions Test), MAT (Mathematics Admissions Test), Oxford ELAT (English Literature Admissions Test) and AMELAT (Asian and Middle Eastern Languages Admissions Test) is October 19 as per the official announcement.

Likewise, October 20 is the exam date for MLAT (Modern Languages Admissions Test), HAT (History Admissions Test), PAT (Physics Admissions Test) and Philosophy Tests. Similarly, On October 18, candidates will be able to take up the TSA (Thinking Skills Assessment) and BMAT (BioMedical Admissions Test) tests arranged by CAAT. TCS will replace Cambridge Admissions Assessment Testing (CAAT). However, for relevant courses, it will continue to deliver the TSA and BMAT tests for one more year.

Registration Window for Oxford Admission Tests

From September 1 to 29, the registration window for the TSA, BMAT and all other Oxford admission tests will be open. On the official website, more details will soon be released about the same. Similar to the previous years, arrangements for the LNAT (National Admissions Test for Law) will be made. TCS also stated that on the LNAT website, the details of the timeline will be available.

CAT (Classics Admissions Test), Oxford ELAT (English Literature Admissions Test), HAT (History Admissions Test), MLAT (Modern Languages Admissions Test), MAT (Mathematics Admissions Test), AMELAT (formerly known as the OLAT, Asian and Middle Eastern Languages Admissions Test), PAT (Physics Admissions Test), and the Philosophy test (for Philosophy and Theology only) are Oxford’s own admissions tests. In addition to these, now, the GAT (Geography Admissions Test) will also be hosted. Details for the GAT will be released soon on the official website.
