- Over 3600 students studying at Oxford University received an offer with 70% of offers to UK applicants going to the students who are educated in the state sector, a 12% increase since 2016. The University stated that there is strong competition for places with applications averaging almost seven per place.
- 38% of the students who were interviewed received a place and the university remains committed to offering fair access to all candidates. Also, admissions from underprivileged social groups continue to grow in comparison with last year.
- The University’s opportunity oxford scheme continued to expand and the offers to schemes have been increased by 36.5% to 228. A variety of support packages are offered to students from under-represented backgrounds to help them study at Oxford.
- As a result of the pandemic, the second set of admission schemes was held online in which over 20,000 interviews took place and 3,600 students received an offer.
