Osmania University was established in 1918 by Nawab Osman Ali Khan in Hyderabad, Telangana. It is re-accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an \’A+\’ Grade. It is the largest affiliated University in Asia with 720 affiliated colleges hosting nearly 3.2 lakh students and nearly 5000 foreign students from 87 countries.

Osmania University offers student support facilities like National Academic Depository, Centre for Educational Development for Minorities, Employment Information and Guidance Bureau, English Language Training Centre, SC/ST Cell, Students Welfare Department, etc. It is also equipped with a competitive exam coaching centre where coaching classes are organized for candidates belonging to socially and educationally backward and minority groups for competing in various Competitive Exams. The Centre has a library with 3000 books for the benefit of the students.
Some other facilities of the University include Estate Cell, Horticulture and University Gardens, Guest House, Health Centre, Bank and Post Office, Faculty Club, Seminar Halls and Legal Cells. The students are also given access to E-books, E-journals and Digital Library.
The campus is equipped with 18 boys’ hostels and 5 girls’ hostels with spacious rooms with both AC and Non-AC according to the needs of the students. The students are also introduced to Physical Education with Indoor Games such as Table Tennis, Carroms, Chess, Badminton and Outdoor Games. The students also get an opportunity to take part in National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC).
Osmania University consists of a Directorate of Placement Services which plays a role in extending placement & Training services. They identify the needs of the students and train the students to develop their capacity and project their competencies to employers and provides a forum for placement activities in the Campus & Constituent Colleges.
