No More Classes and Examinations for the students in Assam!

Releasing an official notification, the Government of Assam has issued an order to shut down all colleges and universities throughout the state amidst the rising COVID-19 cases and death tolls throughout the entire foundation of the country.
Assam has seen a big Covid surge with about 268K detected cases and a total death toll of 1,430. The recovered cases have been counted to be around 237k which means that currently Assam has an outstanding number of 31k people who are still battling through the pandemic. Considering the health and welfare of all its students and upcoming generation, Education Minister, Himanta Biswa Sharma, has asked all Governmental and non-Governmental schools, colleges and universities to suspend offline classes till further notice. Online classes are to be conducted as scheduled.
Assam is following strict lockdown rules and night curfews as laid out by the Government of Assam. In a state order released on Tuesday, May 4, the Government of Assam has asked all shops and offices to close down by 2 pm from Monday to Sunday straight. Strict night curfew from 6 pm to 5 am is also pulled into effect, failure to follow that will lead to strict actions and compensations.

Following all the multi-disciplinary actions taken by the Government in the raging battle against the dreadful COVID-19 pandemic, the Assam Higher Secondary Educational Council, AHSEC has decided to postpone the higher secondary class 12th boards exams which were scheduled to be held from 11th May 2021. Around 2.50 lakh students in the streams of Arts, Science and Commerce were to appear in the board exam conducted by AHSEC. New dates are to be released soon. All universities in the state, including Dibrugarh University and Guwahati University, have also postponed all UG and PG semester exams.
Due to these recent events, SEBA and AHSEC have decided to reduce 30 percent of the academic syllabus due to the losses suffered by the students during this tragic pandemic.
