No Lockdown in Telangana – Schools declared a holiday

As the omicron cases have been increasing in Telangana, the Chief Minister declared a holiday for all the educational institutions from January 8 to 16 and ruled out imposing lockdown on the state. He stated that there is no need to panic due to the Omicron cases and there should not be any negligence.

The chief minister stated that people should wear masks, maintain social distancing and follow Covid-19 guidelines strictly after reviewing the situation both in Hyderabad and other parts of the state.

A report was submitted on the health infrastructure of the state to the chief minister and the officials are thus instructed to prohibit rallies, meetings and gatherings to prevent further spread. The health infrastructure has been asked to strengthen with facilities such as beds, medicines, testing kits, etc.
