Myanmar students boycott classes due to school reopening

Students and teachers refuse to attend the school classes due to high risk. One of the students said, “I haven’t been going to school because there have been explosions at schools recently. None of my friends are going either,”. Another student mentioned that “My school hasn’t been attacked yet but when I hear explosions at other schools it makes me so scared and due to that I am staying home.”

One of the students mentioned that her school normally has 600 students but not even 1/3rd have shown up in the last couple of weeks. The military announced the reopening of schools on November 1 after closure in July due to COVID-19 and many students have refused to attend the school. Not only this, but they are also not ready to protest against the generals who seized power on February 1 as they don\’t want to be attacked.
