Mumbai Colleges put admissions on hold – wait for results

In order to accommodate students from CBSE and ICSE who are still awaiting their results, most popular colleges in Mumbai have planned to put their degree admissions on hold after the third merit list. Mumbai University has not yet issued any directives but most city colleges have individually decided to stop degree admissions for the time being.

The HR and KC College which comes under the HNSC University have already declared their third merit list with a marginal drop in the cut-off score in this list as a good rush of students had already confirmed their admissions after the second merit list.

Moreover, all other seats which were opened for degree admissions are filled now by the HSC students except for those allotted for CBSE and ICSE students, which has opened no avenue except to wait for the CBSE and ICSE results.

At R D National College, the third merit list will be declared soon which will leave only a handful of seats to be filled. The College will depend on the additional intake of seats to be provided by the Mumbai University once the students of CBSE and ICSE apply for admissions until which, the process will be closed.

At Wilson College, not adequate applications are available this year, leading to the option of waiting for CBSE and ICSE results after the third merit list. The decision of Mumbai University to go ahead with admissions without waiting for the CBSE and ICSE results has been heavily criticized and most colleges have begun the admission process as per the schedule given by Mumbai University.
