- Mother Teresa Women’s University is the only Women’s University of Tamil Nadu State Government was established in 1984 in Attuvampatti, Kodaikanal. It is accredited with a Grade B by NAAC.
- This University offers PG Programs and Research programs in Arts and Sciences. It has 12 women’s colleges affiliated with it in Dindigul and Theni districts. It also offers B.Ed. programs through its constituent college in Ananthagiri campus, Kodaikanal and offers education through distance mode as well. - The University houses a Library that consists of a unique and rare collection of books, reports, and journals along with nearly 75000 books and 3500 volumes of complimentary books from various sources. It is also equipped with INFLIBNET facilities for wide reference and information. The library extends services such as Wi-fi, OPAC, browsing facility for Staff and Students, more than 51000 e-journals, Question Bank for reference, Newspaper clipping service, Scanning and Printing service, Reprographic service and Separate room for specially challenged with ramp provision.
- The University is equipped with seven hostels with a total of 108 rooms and could accommodate a maximum of 700 students. The hostels are furnished with the required amenities. - Sports facilities are provided for the students of Mother Teresa Women’s University which consists of an Indoor Stadium and a Gymnasium. Students play sports such as Volleyball, Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, etc. The Gymnasium is equipped with modern amenities for the benefit of the students. Students are also encouraged to take part in Yoga which is made a part of their extracurricular activity.
