The Minister of State for Education stated that the National Education Policy will serve as a
game-changer that can overhaul the country’s education system by reorienting, realigning and
redesigning its processes and outcomes.
The Minister issued this statement during his lecture at Indira Gandhi National Open University
on the topic “Indian Education System in the Journey of 75 years of India’s Independence”. He
also urged IGNOU to strengthen its approach to education in line with the advancement of
science and technology.
The Minister also launched two online programs on the occasion. The Vice-Chancellor of
IGNOU remembered the contribution of the founding Vice-Chancellor and stated that not only
working professionals but also those who had to leave education midway are students of the
university.
