Indians prefer to study in Canada as more than 60,000 Indian students have flown to Canada in the first half of 2022.
Canada is the second most popular country for Indian students to study abroad. 1.83 lakh Indian students are pursuing their studies in the country. However, the USA is in the first position of being the most popular destination to study abroad. It hosts around 4.65 lakh Indian students.
The UAE hosts 1.64 lakh Indian students and occupies the third position. 64,667 Indians went to study in the USA and 60,258 Indians went to study in Canada in the first half of 2022. 1,32,620 Indian students went to study in Canadian Institutions in 2019.
There was a sharp decline to 43,624 in 2020. However, there was again an increase to 1,02,688 in 2021. The percentage of Indian students choosing Canada has increased by 220% between 2016 and 2021. The number of students is expected to increase in the second half of the year.
