JNU campus under night curfew after the yellow alert issued

  • As a Yellow alert has been issued to the country’s capital due to the rising number of Covid cases, Jawaharlal Nehru University has announced a night curfew on its campus from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. JNU also informed that all offline academic activities will remain suspended and Central Library will remain closed until further notice.
  • Valid identity cards should be produced to enter and exit the campus for those who engage in emergency services and require to travel for medical emergencies and supply essential goods. Also, people who travel from or to airports and railway stations are allowed on producing valid tickets.
  • All authorized shops of shopping complexes are allowed to be open between 10 am and 8 pm on an odd-even basis, all stand-alone shops and single shops of residential areas are allowed to be open between 10 am and 8 pm and all canteens are allowed to work with 50% capacity between 10 am and 8 pm.
  • The security branch is also directed to ensure appropriate Covid-19 behavior and to ensure effective checking of the movement of people and vehicles by putting checking points. Only outdoor yoga activity is allowed and campus residents have been asked to stay indoors during curfew hours. Schools and colleges will remain closed in New Delhi.
