- Japan stated that it will only allow 87 international students who are funded by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology to enter the country next month because they are due to graduate within the year.
- However, many students who have been waiting to return to the country have not been reassured and many of them have been urging the government to reopen to the international students as soon as possible.
- Davide Rossi stated that 87 students are only 0.06 per cent of 147,000 students waiting to enter the country. He also stated that if a majority of people in Japan are allowed to go out and in, then why is it not okay for international students to enter. There is a growing disappointment among students and the foreign students are unfairly penalized.
