IIT-Bombay has improved its position from last year’s 42nd position. It has come to the 40th position this year followed by IIT Delhi in the 46th position and IIT Madras in the 53th position.
A total of 118 Indian universities have figured in the QS Asia University rankings in 2023. Five Indian Institutes of Technology have entered the prestigious group of the top 100 institutes in Asia. The list also included IISc and Delhi University.
IIT-Bombay has improved its position from last year’s 42nd position. It has come to the 40th position this year followed by IIT Delhi in the 46th position and IIT Madras in the 53rd position. Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore is placed at the 52nd spot.
This is followed by IIT Madras in the 53rd position, IIT Kharagpur in the 61st position, IIT Kanpur in the 66th position and the University of Delhi in the 85th position. Apart from these, IIT Roorkee, Jamia Millia Islamia, Jawaharlal Nehru University and BITS Pilani have also secured a spot in the top 200.
Top 10 Universities
Five universities among the top 10 are from China. The first position is occupied by Peking University followed by the National University of Singapore in second place. The third position is occupied by Tsinghua University, China.
Basically, the top universities in Asia are highlighted every year by the QS Asia University Rankings. The rankings are based on 11 indicators. They include faculty/student ratio, academic reputation, employer reputation, and international research network among others.
Moreover, In the 2022 rankings, IIT Bombay had dropped to the 42nd position from the 37th position. However, in 2023, the number of universities featured remained the same as that in 2022 ranking. Peking University was in second place in QS Asia 2022 rankings.
