Govinda Pai Memorial Government College also known as GPM Government College was established in 1980. The College is affiliated with Kannur University and was accredited with a B grade by NAAC in 2017.

College Facilities :
The Campus is placed on an expanse of 43 acres. The College consists of a well-equipped library comprising nearly 37500 books and 21 Journals. It also facilitates the students with e-resources such as e-book, e-journals and many more.
Govinda Pai Memorial Government College has 2 hostels each for boys and girls. The hostel provides free food for the students residing there.
Lab facilities are provided for the students of the college to enhance their learning of the subjects and having a better understanding. A cafeteria is located on the college campus which provides hygienic, nutritious and delicious food to the students.
A sports complex is available for the students to take part in sports activities such as cricket, football, volleyball, baseball, kabaddi, etc. Other events such as fine arts, offstage events, etc., are participated by the students.
Students take part in activities such as the National Service Scheme where students are educated through social service. The Forum conducts Awareness programs, Camps, Village adoption schemes and more.
Club under Tourism Executives organizes regular seminars, exhibitions and celebrates festivals such as Onam and World Tourism Day actively. The tourism club also organizes seminars, functions and camps for the benefit of the society and community such as clean destination campaigns, identification of upcoming destinations and new projects, etc.
The College also facilitates the students with other clubs such as Folklore club; nature club which works on maintaining an eco-friendly campus; Film club which helps to develop a creative attitude towards the medium of cinema; Bhumitra Sena Club which organizes activities for the protection and conservation of the campus environment and many more.
Walk With a Scholar and Scholar Support Program are certain programs conducted by the college for the welfare of the student community. Through these programs, the students are provided with necessary support from the institution.
