Annamalai University was established in 1928 by Rajah Sir S. R. M. Annamalai Chettiar. This University is accredited with an ‘A’ Grade by NAAC and is one of India’s largest public residential universities. The campus is placed on 950 Acres of land comprising of 10 Faculties and 49 departments of study. The University is ranked by NIRF in the band 101 – 150 in the University Category. The Faculty of Agriculture conducts activities like Agripreneurship Development Programme, Sustainable Livelihood Projects for Tsunami affected people and Training Farmers in Integrated Farming.
