- Nirmalagiri College was established in 1964 by H.E. Mar Sebastian Valloppilly. The College is re-accredited with an ‘A Grade’ in 2017 by NAAC and Ranked 87th in the All-India Level by NIRF 2018. The College is affiliated with Kannur University.

College Facilities :
- Nirmalagiri College is equipped with a library that is fully automated for easy access, having a collection of books of over 51000, 65 journals and six newspapers in Malayalam, English and Hindi. It also includes CD collection across various disciplines. The library also has a separate reading room and reference section for the benefit of its users. It also extends photocopying service to the students.
- The College has five hostels in total where one hostel is for boys and four hostels are for girls where they have a comfortable accommodation. Individual rooms are provided with an attached bathroom to the students and provides 24/7 hot water facility, laundry, Wi-Fi facility and cooling system.
- The Computer lab consists of 37 computers with the latest Operating systems and enabled with internet. Students can avail themselves of the facility to browse topics related to their study, download notes, prepare assignments and presentations, etc.
- The Informatics Centre provides access to Internet, E-mail, Fax facilities and provides an active network with research centres. The Centre extends facilities such as Internet, Scanning, Browsing, DTP, Fax, etc. Students with poor economic background are facilitated with free computer training. The Centre also conducts computer-assisted learning programs and foundation courses such as D.T.P, M.S. Office, Internet, Tally and Language Courses.
- In addition to this, the college has a Computer Centre which offers different International certification courses. Students can compete with the international standards in the IT field by acquiring the technical and internationally certified courses which include Advanced Hardware and Networking Engineering, Advanced Diploma in Software Engineering, Microsoft Certified System Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Associate and many more.
- Nirmalagiri College has other amenities such as a canteen and a cafeteria which provides food and refreshment at moderate rates; a co-operative store to purchase books and other stationery items; and a Gym with 10 multi and single station domesticated equipment.
- The College conducts various programs such as the Walk With a Scholar, Additional Skill Acquisition Program and the Scholar Support Program for the benefit of the student community. The Women’s Cell works towards the empowerment of women by creating awareness programs.

- Students are given facilities for playing Sports which include a 400 Meter Mud Track, Basketball Court, Volleyball Court, Ball Badminton Court, Hockey Field, Badminton Court, Handball Court, Multipurpose Gymnasium and many more.
