- The University Grants Commission and the All India Council for Technical Education have warned the educational institutions that join hands with edtech companies to offer conventional or online programs of derecognition.
- The higher education institutes have been asked to annul agreements with edtech companies as some edtech companies have been giving advertisements in newspapers, social media, TV, etc. Such arrangement is not permissible and action will be taken against such defaulting edtech companies.
- Universities were outsourcing content creation to edtech companies and programs have been running through them. Such companies were awarding degrees and the faculty from those companies have been asked to teach which is not permissible.
- Edtech players must not advertise that they are offering MBA and BMS for which they do not have permission. Students have also been asked to check the recognition and entitlement status of a program before enrolling.
