DU campus under consideration to reopen for offline classes

DU campus under consideration to reopen for offline classes
  • Delhi University is looking forward to finally reopening its campus for physical classes as the Covid restrictions are being eased in higher educational institutions. From next week, all the higher educational institutions, colleges, polytechnic, ITIs and skill institutes will be directed to conduct offline classes.
  • Delhi Government-run campuses such as Delhi Technological University, Ambedkar University, colleges under Indraprastha University will be opening for physical classes for all their students. The requirement for the institutions to maintain 50% of laboratory or classroom capacity at any given time will be done away with as this 50% requirement is the primary reason for not having resumed offline classes.
  • The Vice-Chancellor stated that they will be examining the guidelines and if it enables reopening without any conditions, the campus will be reopened. A notice period of 7, 10 or 15 days will be given before reopening so that students from various parts of the country can return in advance.
  • However, the university is awaiting the DDMA’s order but the campus is already undergoing preparation for reopening. The Jamia Millia Islamia University is still waiting for directions from the UGC following which the executive council will take the decision accordingly.
