Delhi university has 70,000 UG seats on offer across all courses and colleges.
Delhi University is hoping to fill all its UG seats in the first round of seat allocations. The university has 70,000 UG seats on offer across all courses and colleges. In the first round, for unreserved, OBC and EWS categories, it has made an extra allocation of 20% for each programme in each college. Moreover, it has made 30% extra allocations for SC, ST and PWBD categories.
It has allocated 80,164 seats. More than 60,000 candidates have accepted their allocations this time. Thus, now it is the duty of the colleges to approve or reject applications after the verification of their documents.
The extra allocation had been made so that the final intake would stabilise after withdrawals and rejections. As medical admissions have already been done, most of the admission will not be withdrawn. However, if seats remain vacant after this round, they will be in courses that very few students opt for.
This time, rejection has been met in cases where candidates wrote the CUET in subjects they did not have in class XII. The rejections will also be reviewed to see whether these are being done for valid reasons.
