- “The City cabinet of Delhi has approved the Delhi Teachers’ University on Monday and the bill to establish the university will be presented in the next assembly session”, said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
- The institute will operate as a multidisciplinary academic centre and the vice-chancellor and professors will be of global repute. This plan was initiated to prepare excellent quality teachers and national and international collaborations will be arranged with the best institutes across the world.
- The Programs that the University will offer include four-year integrated B.A.-B.Ed., B.Sc.-B.Ed. and B.Com.-B.Ed. and admissions to students will be given after class 12. The admission process is likely to begin in the 2022-2023 academic session.
- The added benefit for the students is that practical training will be given at Delhi government schools throughout the duration of their course helping them to gain both practical and theoretical knowledge.
