An overview of the CUET UG exam results for 2023 compared to the previous year.
The much-awaited CUET result for the year 2023 was finally declared on July 15, and candidates can now access their individual scorecards by visiting the official CUET 2023 website cuet.samarth.ac.in. However, with the announcement of the CUET UG 2023 results, a new challenge emerges for prospective students seeking admission to undergraduate (UG) programs in the 2023-24 academic year. The competition is expected to be exceptionally tough, as a staggering number of over 22,000 students achieved a perfect 100 percentile in the CUET UG 2023 exam.
Comparing the data to the previous year’s results, the intensity of the competition becomes evident. The number of candidates attaining a perfect 100 percentile increased significantly from 21,159 to 22,836. Moreover, an impressive 2.54 lakh candidates fall within the percentile range of 95 and above, which represents a notable rise of nearly 45,000 individuals compared to the previous year.
A detailed analysis of the CUET Result 2023 for the 95-100 percentilers reveals some interesting insights. This year, four candidates managed to achieve a perfect 100 percentile in six subjects, a notable decrease from the 13 candidates who accomplished this feat in the previous year. Additionally, 22 candidates secured a perfect score in five subjects, while the number of students achieving 100 percentile in four subjects rose from 158 to 195 in CUET 2023.
The surge in high-scoring candidates is particularly remarkable in subjects such as biology/biotechnology, economics, and accountancy. The number of students scoring 100 percentile in biology/biotechnology witnessed a significant jump, increasing from 1,319 in 2022 to an impressive 4,850 this year. Similarly, economics saw a substantial increase from 1,187 to 2,836, and accountancy rose from 478 to 1,074.
Other subjects, such as mathematics, history, physics, and political science, also experienced noteworthy increases in high scorers in the CUET UG 2023 exam results.
On the other hand, some subjects observed a decrease in the number of high scorers, including English, sociology, psychology, and computer science. However, this decline should not lead to expectations of a substantial drop in merit cut-offs, as the number of candidates scoring 95 percentile and above has risen across various subjects.
Despite English still boasting the highest number of candidates achieving 100 percentile (5,685), this figure has decreased from 8,236 in 2022.
Nevertheless, popular subjects like biology, economics, history, mathematics, chemistry, and business studies have witnessed an upward trend in scores in the CUET UG 2023.
The analysis of CUET 2023 results reveals an impressive surge in scores, pointing to a highly competitive environment for college admissions. As a result, prospective students and educational institutions alike will face the challenge of adapting to the increased competition and setting higher merit cut-offs to ensure a rigorous selection processfor the CUET UG exam.
