On the whole, the students found the examination of Day 3 to be more or less easy to moderate. Fortunately, none of the students who wrote on any day or shift claimed to have any tough experience. Most importantly, no incident of technical glitches was reported this time around, as it caused a great sense of inconvenience in CUET UG 2022. Students must therefore continue their preparation as there is uncertainty prevailing about the next days and shifts to come by. Therefore, students are advised to remain calm and stay focused.

The Day 3 of CUET UG 2023 was all about Language papers (English, Hindi), Humanities subjects (History, Political Science), and Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics). As direct questions were being asked in the language as well as domain subject papers, students were very happy and excited. Students found the test experience to be between easy and moderate. Below is a detailed analysis of the exam conducted on the 23rd of May 2023.

Section I – English

SHIFT – 1

On Shift 1 of Day 3 of CUET (UG) 2023, the English paper was easy to moderate. Most students rated the paper to be moderate while students who attempted the paper in the past two days found it easy. The knowledge of a student in grammar, vocabulary and comprehension was tested through the English paper.

Based on reading comprehension, 15 questions were asked, i.e., 3 passages with 5 questions each. One passage was related to the Internet while the other one was on Raja Ram Mohan Roy. Moreover, the comprehension level of the passage was found to be moderate by the students. Even though the questions were direct, the options were close to each other.

Questions asked from other major topics:

3-4 questions from Identifying the parts of speech in a sentence (Adjectives and Verbs), Synonyms & Antonyms (Eg.: Outstanding, Regeneration) and Para jumbles.

Questions asked from other minor topics:

Spelling Error, Sentence Correction, Active-passive, Indirect speech, One Word Substitution and Fill in the blanks.

SHIFT – 2

On Shift 2 of Day 3 of CUET (UG) 2023, the English paper was easier compared to Shift 1. Most students rated the paper to be easy just as those students who attempted the paper in the past two days found it easy. The knowledge of a student in grammar, vocabulary and comprehension was tested through the English paper.

Based on reading comprehension, 15 questions were asked, i.e., 3 passages with 5 questions each. Moreover, the comprehension level of the passage was found to be easy for the students. The questions were direct from the passage and were easy to answer.

Para jumbles, Synonyms & Antonyms, Spotting errors (Sentence & spelling), Identifying the parts of speech (in a sentence), Filling in the blanks, etc.

Section I – Hindi

SHIFT – 2

On Shift 2 of Day 3, the Hindi paper was on the easier line similar to English. As the question paper was pretty simple and straightforward, students were very much happy to see the paper.

Two Reading Comprehension Extracts were present from which one was a passage and the other one was a poem. Questions were asked from these passages such as the author and the meaning of a sentence. On the whole, the extracts were easy to comprehend. The questions were also direct and pretty easy to answer.

Section II – Domain Subject

Humanities – SHIFT – 1
History

The History Paper of Shift 1 of Day 3 was rated easy by the students. Some of the topics from which questions were asked are given below:

Questions appeared directly from the passage. The questions were fact-based and easy.

Political Science

The Political Science Paper of Shift 1 of Day 3 was rated easy by the students. Some of the topics from which questions were asked are given below:

Most of the students who attempted the physics paper rated it as moderate. The difficulty level of the questions was found to be similar to that of the first and second days. Some of the topics from which questions were asked are given below:
