The Northeastern States except Tripura recorded the worst attendance rate in the CUET-UG 2022 examination.
Students from North Indian states turned out in large numbers for the Common University Entrance Test. This has helped in pushing the overall attendance percentage of the exam. The states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana and Delhi recorded the highest number of applications. These states have recorded attendance percentages above 61.86 per cent which is the national average.
The highest percentage is from Delhi which is 73.81% followed by Bihar with 72.81%, UP with 71% and Leh and Ladakh with 69.40%. Haryana, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir have recorded 65.15%, 64.53% and 62.25% respectively.
The attendance of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh was marginally below the national average. The Northeastern states except Tripura recorded attendance below 50%. Also, the Southern States of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh have recorded an attendance below 50%.
Meghalaya had recorded the lowest attendance at 6.02% followed by Arunachal Pradesh with 11.21%. Delhi University recorded the highest number of applications with more than 6 lakh applications followed by Banaras Hindu University and Allahabad University. Over 90 universities will admit students to undergraduate programs based on CUET scores.
