The aid of the IPMAT preparation

Mahalaxmi Swaminathan was preparing for IPMAT before CUET. The revision helped her a lot. She was able to understand and figure out how to answer questions on the basis of literature subjects such as English. She also referred to newspapers as well as books like ‘Wren and Martin’ and ‘Word Power Made Easy’ for her grammar.

She found English as the only subject that was hard in her term-end exam. Therefore, this helped her channelize her preparation in such a way that she was able to effectively answer objective questions. Moreover, she felt the CUET English paper to be much easier than her term-end exam.

Normalization of CUET UG 2022 marks

As per her calculations, she should have scored 180 out of 200 when the NTA released the answer key. However, she secured only 150 marks in the final results due to normalization and she was very upset due to this turnaround. Moreover, it also impacted her overall result. Also, as Maths is a compulsory subject for any course in SRCC, scoring less in the subject could have affected her marks. She was skeptical as she felt that 755 was a really low score to get into SRCC. However, he went through this phase.

Increased opportunities due to CUET

Due to CUET, the opportunities for people have increased. However, these opportunities mainly depend on what students are aiming for. This is because Delhi University was very clear to consider only the subjects opted for and0 studied by the students their Class 11 and 12. Such factors also, generally, depend a lot on the universities that the students choose.

Initially, as her batch had to give two board exams, she felt CUET was quite exhausting. As she appeared in the first phase of CUET, she was lucky. However, a lot of issues were faced by those who appeared in the second phase of the exam as there were technical glitches. Moreover, the CUET itself dragged on till September.

Easily understandable normalization procedure

Mahalaxmi Swaminathan suggests that the students must be made to understand the normalization procedure in a more easy manner. The procedure is pretty confusing. Till the end, she is unsure of how her score fell from 180 to 150.

CUET – Easy to ace than board exams

Than CUET, the CBSE board exams were tougher. More application-based questions appeared in Board exams while only more direct questions appeared in CUET. The CUET English Paper was at the Elementary level. However, the English paper of the board exams had many subjective questions.
