CUET Effect - Admission Process Is Simpler This Time

Several DU colleges have stated that the admission process is simpler for them this time due to CUET.

Delhi University, this year, is admitting students through CUET scores instead of their Class 12 marks. Thus, several colleges have stated that the admission process is simpler for them. The first list of seat allocation for undergraduate programmes was announced yesterday. This is the beginning of the third and last phase of the admission process.

This process is much simpler. Students can discuss about which college and course to choose with their peers by sitting in the comfort of their homes. However, the chances of over-admissions are less as DU will be allotting seats.

Through the counselling by DU, it will get a list of 90 or 100 students against 70 seats. However, the numbers were almost 400 earlier. Admissions are done as well as cancelled in case students withdrew. As the numbers are lower, there will be fewer cancellations this year.

Earlier, colleges had to decide on cut-offs and then admit students. A fear of over-admissions were always there along with sufficiency of cut-offs. However, this time things will be easier. Delhi University is admitting students this year through CUET scores. The candidates are also advised to ensure that they secure admissions to the seat allocated to them.
