Candidates must be fully aware of the details given below before applying for the examination. They must also carefully review the eligibility requirements for their desired program specifically that has been provided by various Central Universities. Only one application form can be submitted by the candidates and hence, they are advised to do that wisely.

This year, the National Testing Agency has incorporated various changes to the second Edition of the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate 2023. There has been a modification in the format of the examination as well as the number of centres used. The examination will be conducted in three phases each day on multiple days depending upon the number of subject choices and candidates.

CUET UG 2023 Examination Pattern

The Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate 2023 will be conducted in three sections:

  • Section I is the language test which is further divided into Sections IA and IB.
    • Section IA – Candidates must choose any language from the 13 different language choices offered.
    • Section IB – Candidates must choose any language from the 20 different language choices offered.
  • Section 2 – 27 Domain-specific subjects are offered under this section.
  • Section 3 – This is a General Test Section which includes subjects such as Mental Ability and Logical Reasoning.

Change in the Number of Questions to be attempted

The primary change is that the candidates can choose a maximum of 10 tests instead of the previously allowed 9 subjects. Therefore, students are given can enjoy more flexibility with more choices. Also, candidates were previously based to attempt 60 questions out of 75 in the General Test Section III. However, now, students can attempt 50 questions out of 60 in the General Test Section III.

Students will have to attempt 35/40 questions out of 45/50 questions in the Domain Specific Test Section II instead of 40 out of 50 questions. Moreover, it is anticipated that the duration of the Sections II and III will likely change. However, this has not been officially notified.

Important Dates to remember for CUET UG 2023

The online submission of application forms commenced on February 9, 2023, i.e., Yesterday. Candidates can submit their forms by March 12, 2023 up to 09:00 pm. Candidates can transact their fees successfully through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ UPI/ Net Banking until March 12, 2023 up to 11:50 pm. Correction window will be available for the candidates from March 15 to March 18, 2023 up to 11:50 pm.

The City Examination will be announced on 30 April 2023. They can then download their admit cards in the Second week of May 2023 from the official website of the National Testing Agency. The examination will begin on 21 March 2023. After the examination, the recorded responses and answer keys will be displayed on the official websites www.nta.ac.in and cuet.samarth.ac.in. The declaration of results will be announced by the National Testing Agency on the official website later on after the process of raising objections for the answer keys that are released.

Fee Structure for CUET UG 2023

Based on the number of subjects chosen by the candidates, the fees will be charged. For students in the general category, candidates choosing three subjects at most will have to pay Rs. 750, those choosing 7 subjects at most will have to pay Rs. 1500 and those choosing 10 subjects at most will have to pay Rs. 1750.

For students in the OBC – NCL/EWS category, candidates choosing three subjects at most will have to pay Rs. 700, those choosing 7 subjects at most will have to pay Rs. 1400 and those choosing 10 subjects at most will have to pay Rs. 1650.

For students in the SC/ ST/ PwBD/ Third Gender category, candidates choosing three subjects at most will have to pay Rs. 650, those choosing 7 subjects at most will have to pay Rs. 1300 and those choosing 10 subjects at most will have to pay Rs. 1550.

For students choosing to write the examination in centres outside India, candidates choosing three subjects at most will have to pay Rs. 3750, those choosing 7 subjects at most will have to pay Rs. 7500 and those choosing 10 subjects at most will have to pay Rs. 11000.

CUET UG 2023 Procedure for Filling Application Form

The procedure for filling out the CUET UG 2023 application is entirely online. Candidates will have to visit the official website of Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate at cuet.samarth.ac.in and nta.ac.in. They must click on the registration link and register themselves on the portal by providing the basic details.

Candidates must then fill up the application form and upload the necessary documents. They will then be allowed to pay the application fee and submit the form. They can then take a printout of the form for future reference.
