- Sree Narayana College was established in 1948 in Kollam and was named after the social reformer, Sree Narayana Guru. The College is ranked with an A Grade by NAAC and placed in a 150-200 rank band. It was also ranked #151 among top Colleges in India by NIRF 2020. The College is affiliated with the University of Kerala.
- Presently, the college offers 18 Under Graduate and 14 Post Graduate Programmes along with research programs in nine departments. The College has also recently introduced some skill-oriented certificate courses.

College Facilities :
- The campus is placed on an expanse of ten acres which consists of various amenities including the district IGNOU centre and Kerala University Distance Education centre. The campus consists of a Ladies Hostel which could accommodate 250 students. The rooms are Well-furnished and electrified and consist of Sufficient common toilets. The Hostel also consists of a Recreation hall, reading space with audio-visual equipment, an Uninterrupted drinking water supply and Medical facilities with first aid provisions.
- Sree Narayan College facilitates the college with various labs such as Biotechnology Lab, Botany Lab, Chemistry Lab, Computer Lab, Physics Lab and Zoology Lab for the benefit of the students so that they could have a clear understanding of the subject.
- The Researchers Council works to disseminate and promote innovative scientific and research ideas and acts as a bridge among teachers, research scholars and scientists working in various disciplines. It also initiates funding aids from government agencies and urges the faculty and research scholars to publish their research outputs in national and international journals.
- Sree Narayana College Campus is also equipped with a Library which comprises over 46082 books and journals and provides access to e-resources. The Computer Centre is equipped with 120+ computers and 22 printers with high-speed LAN computing. Other Amenities include eight mini-computer labs, 2 main computer labs, Fitness Centre, Playfields for outdoor games and a Canteen.
- The Capability Enhancement Centre works of providing various programmes such as a remedial class for slow learners, Coaching for entry into services, Coaching for appearing in SET/ NET examinations. The tutorial system works on improving the performance of the students and provides opportunities for personal interaction between the teachers and the students.
- The Scholar support program works on imparting personalized support to needy students by providing them with study materials, question banks, interactive sessions, etc. Walk With a Scholar aims to give orientation to needy students in order to prepare them for employment by giving them the necessary guidance, motivation and mental support.
