Conflict over the conducting of online semester exams

The Colleges in Chennai have been conflicted over the conduct of online examinations. Colleges in Chennai had scheduled to conduct the online semester examination after the announcement of the election results but the sudden announcement in the state lockdown from May 10 to May 24 has brought this schedule to an abrupt stop.
Loyola College and Gurunanak College are planning to conduct their examinations amidst this situation while D.G.Vaishnav College has planned to conduct the semester examination in June. On the contrary, Madras Christian College and Women’s Christian College have already completed their semester examinations.
The authorities of Loyola College and Gurunanak College claim that the online exams are being conducted from the homes and students and faculty members are not required to come out of their homes. Thus, they are committed to conducting the examinations unless the government says no to conducting them.
Meanwhile, Madras University and Anna University are planning to conduct the examinations after the end of the lockdown owing to the non-payment of exam fees and setting of question papers.
