Central Board updates on Class 12 evaluation criteria

The Central Board of Secondary Education has released a notification regarding the Class 12 evaluation process. Earlier, CBSE had planned to evaluate the Class 12 examinations in a 30:30:40 ratio with 30% weightage for Class 10 results, 30% weightage for Class 11 results and 40% weightage for Class 12 results.

However, certain cases have arisen in which the student has changed the entire group or retains only one or two subjects from Class 11 to Class 12. In such a condition, the school is given the responsibility to ensure whether the approval for the change of subjects is already obtained from CBSE and no fresh approval requests are to be entertained. Thus, for these students, the school will assess them by using the average of the best three subjects from the subjects studied in Class 11.

Some students who were studying in the school at the time of submission of the List of Candidates are not available for the examination or computation of results as they have already taken TC or the student has ceased to be a bonafide student of the school or the student could not be contacted by the school. The student will thus be marked as absent and the results for such students will not be declared and they will not be awarded zero marks.
