CBSE releases revised term-wise syllabus for classes 9-12

The CBSE has released the revised term-wise syllabus for Classes 9 to 12 which would be applicable from this academic year. The Central Board of Secondary Education had earlier announced that instead of one board exam at the end of the year, two board exams will be conducted, one at the end of each term.

The syllabus also mentions the criteria of assessment based on the policy of two board exams. The Term 1 examinations will cover the first half of the rationalized syllabus and will be held on November-December 2021. The examination will be of 90-minute duration and will have multiple-choice questions.

The Question papers and marking scheme will be sent to the schools by the CBSE. The examination will be conducted under the supervision of external examiners and the results will be then sent to the board.

The Term 2 examinations will cover the second half of the rationalized syllabus and will be held on March-April 2022 at exam centres fixed by the board. The examination will be of 2 hours duration that will contain questions in different formats. However, if the situation is not good, then term 2 exams will also be of MCQ’s for 90 minutes.
