The schools in Mumbai and the Greater Mumbai Municipal area have been ordered to be closed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) till January 31, 2021. Students of Classes 1 to 9 and Class 11 will be shifted to online mode immediately and only the students of Classes 10 and 12 will have offline classes.
As the cases have been rapidly rising in Maharashtra, schools have been asked to close with immediate effect and after further reviewing the situation, the decision to hold the classes in online or offline mode will be taken.
Moreover, students in the age group of 15 to 18 years are eligible for vaccination in municipal as well as private schools. Notification will be given to the students to attend the immunization centre as per the given schedule.
