TN Health Minister requests the cancellation of NEET 2021

The Health Minister of Tamil Nadu requested the cancellation of the NEET examination just like the Class 12 examinations to the Education Minister citing the Covid-19 crisis and the well-being and safety of the students.

The meeting was held after the Madras High Court handed its report to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on the impact of NEET in Tamil Nadu. The Health Minister urged the Centre to all the states to fill the seats for professional courses based on the marks of the Class 12 examination.

On the contrary, the Education Minister ensured that the number of cities held as centres will be increased from 14 to 18 and that the additional centres will be in the four cities namely, Chengalpet, Virudhunagar, Dindigul and Tiruppur.
