Offline classes to resume at DU SOL in a phased manner
  • Offline classes will resume in the School of Open Learning, Delhi University from February 28 in a phased manner. Physical classes will begin for the fourth and sixth semesters for the B.A. and B.Com. program from February 28 followed by other courses from March 6.
  • However, the classes for the first years will continue online as only a few days are left for their examinations. The decision was followed by a protest by the students who stated that there had been no clarity about SOL and that SOL students do not even know the structure of their courses and no classes and study materials have been provided for them.
  • Officials state that there was a delay in receiving the syllabus for the sixth semester and that soft copies are being uploaded to the website and printing and distribution is also underway. Protestors also stated that a delegation of students who had gone to submit a memorandum to the principal was beaten up by a group of 20 SOL officials in the presence of the principal and a police constable who accompanied the delegation.
  • Officials of DU state that the students misbehaved with the women guards and tried to break the gates and were not even SOL students. However, the Democratic Teachers’ Front supported the demand of the students and condemned the attack on them.
