California State University is preparing to eliminate SAT and ACT standardized tests from their undergraduate admission process taking into account the considerations that exams are unfair to the minority and low-income students.
The voting will take place in March and the Board of Trustees for the 23-campus California State University will vote on the recommendations to end tests that were presented at a meeting last week.
If trustees vote for eliminating the exams, California State University will have a test blind admission process joining the University of California. The University of California’s Board of Regents last year voted to drop the SAT and ACT scores at its nine undergraduate campuses.
