Assessment Criteria by CBSE for the academic year 2022

The Central Board of Secondary Education is planning to release the assessment criteria for the year 2022. The internal assessment will be developed will be uniform across the nation for Class 10 and Class 12. This assessment will be used to declare the results.

The Board will receive the performance of the students from time to time and these details will be used to declare the results in case the Covid-19 pandemic situation arises again. Therefore, the assessment of other classes will not be used.

Through this, the importance of Unit Tests and Pre-Board exams are being strengthened. Thus, students need to be serious and work from the start as the performance in every test will be equated to the final assessment. The CBSE will however divide the syllabus to make it easy for the students. This assessment ensures that the students consistently study with focus.

The Board exams which are written for three hours cannot determine the knowledge of the students and the student might not always be in the right state of mind and physique during the examination. Thus, this method of assessment might be useful in evaluating the students and if this works, this would become the permanent method of evaluation.

It is even through projects and portfolios that the knowledge of the students is visible than the mere memorization of facts. This, therefore, emphasizes the need for evolving the question papers and encourages multiple modalities.
