Germany has asserted that APS certificates will be mandatory for students who are applying from India.
The Academic Evaluation Centre (APS) must access the academic records of the students. They must obtain the authenticity of the certificates before applying for student visas to Germany.
It is a mandatory part of the documents to be submitted with the visa application. Applicants must have their APS certificate before filing a visa application. APS will be open for applications commencing from October 1st, 2022.
Candidates will have to register online at www.aps-india.de. They must print and sign the completed application form and transfer the APS procedure fee of Rs. 18,000to the APS bank account. The required documents along with the printed and signed application form must be submitted through courier or in person at APS India.
APS will verify the documents and process complete applications. It will update a candidate\’s online profile upon completion of the procedure. Candidates whose verification was successful will receive five original APS certificates through courier. Now, they can apply for a student visa through VFS.
Documents Required
Candidates must submit a printed and duly signed application form with a passport-size photo. Along with that, they must submit a copy of the APS fee transfer receipt, a copy of the Aadhaar card with a linked mobile number and a copy of their passport.
They must also produce a copy of mark sheets and degree certificates and a copy of the language certificate, either English or German or both. Students must also submit extra documents based on their degree level.
APS – Eligibility and Validity
Students can receive their APS certificate within two weeks after the successful submission of documents. However, students who apply for short-term courses of 90 days do not require an APS certificate. Also, students sponsored by EU-Funded or German scholarships do not require an APS certification.
An APS certificate is valid indefinitely. One must apply for an updated APS certificate under a new category if there is a change in eligibility.
