AICTE must approve deemed universities to offer tech courses

AICTE must approve deemed universities to offer tech courses
  • The Deemed Universities have been asked not to admit any students without obtaining approval from the All India Council for Technical Education for their technical courses. Before taking admissions, students have been asked by the Odisha Private Engineering College Association to check the number of seats in the technical courses approved by the AICTE.
  • Some of the universities are yet to take approval from the AICTE while a few others have only taken partial approval to enrol students in technical programs and courses. Approval must be obtained by the deemed universities from AICTE to carry out admission in the 2022-2023 academic session.
  • Students must be careful about this as enrolling in a private or deemed university that does not have AICTE approval could affect their career as it will not be considered to be valid, thus, making them unable to appear for competitive exams.
